PayPoint Romania, one of the main cash payment operators in Romania and UniCredit Consumer Financing, part of UniCredit Group in Romania, have announced that they have signed a new agreement for payment collection.
From December 2010, consumers can make loan repayments in cash instalments to UniCredit Consumer Financing at any of more than 5,000 neighbourhood stores with a PayPoint branded terminal,. as well as at Unicredit Tiriac Bank branches. To make a payment, customers take their credit contract to the PayPoint store and the retailer, on receipt of the payment, will scan the barcode in the contract and issue a receipt.
“This contract extends PayPoint’s client portfolio in the financial services/insurance sector, with UniCredit Consumer Financing clients able to make loan repayments in cash at PayPoint branded stores nationwide while shopping, at no additional cost. By offering a convenient and easy way to make payments for their financial services, PayPoint is meeting its clients’ need for flexibility, efficiency and transparency, while, at the same time saving them time, money and effort,” said Mugur Dogariu, Managing Director of PayPoint Romania.

PayPoint also offers top-up services for all mobile operators (Cosmote, Orange, Vodafone, Zapp), for landline operators providing international calls and Internet Service Providers. Other PayPoint clients include Nobel and Worldtelecom (Number One). For Focus Sat, PayPoint provides recharge vouchers for DTH service users.
The PayPoint branded retail network now numbers over 5,000 terminals located in local shops, processing cash bill payments for utilities and mobile phone top-ups. In the first half of this financial year, PayPoint Romania processed over five million bill payment transactions, an increase of nearly three times on the same period of the previous year.
